Job Title:

Paint Technician.

Purpose and Scope

As a Paint Technician at Sage Oil Vac, Inc., you will be an integral part of the production team responsible for applying paint coating to products. Your role involves ensuring the high‑quality finishing of Sage Oil Vac’s products, meeting aesthetic standards, and contributing to the overall success of the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply paint coatings to products using various techniques, including spraying, brushing, or rolling.
  • Ensure precise color matching and adherence to specified thickness and finish standards.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of painted products to verify compliance with quality standards.
  • Prepare surface of products by applying primer as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Paint Preparation Technician to achieve optimal surface conditions.
  • Mix and prepare paint materials, ensuring proper consistency and adherence to color specifications.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of paint supplies, coordinating with the Paint Preparation Technician.
  • Operate and maintain painting equipment, including spray guns, to achieve consistent and high-quality results.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions and perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Work closely with the production team to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of painted products.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding any issues or challenges.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet the required quality and aesthetic standards.
  • Touch up and correct any defects or imperfections in the finish as needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance on painting and preparation equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or issues for timely repair.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols when handling paints, solvents, and chemicals. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain an inventory of paints, solvents, sanding and washing, and painting supplies.
  • Report to supervisor the supplies to have ordered and restocked as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of the types of paint used, surface preparation techniques, and other relevant information for quality control and future reference.
  • Responsible for moving items to drying areas.
  • Responsible for unloading and stacking products for further painting or packaging.
  • Use and operation of heavy equipment such as cranes, forklifts, etc.
  • Application of seam sealers.
  • Ensure the work area and paint booth are cleaned and orderly daily.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Paint Technician or in a similar role within a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of paint application techniques and surface preparation.
  • Knowledge of color matching, blending, and finished processes.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high‑quality work.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Understanding of safety procedures and protocols in painting environment.
  • Team‑oriented mindset with excellent communication skills.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit;

and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to safely operate a forklift and maintain and required certifications for forklift operation.
