SCOPE:
Performs predetermined repetitive operations in the assembly of right-angle gear drives.
** EDUCATION/TRAINING:
** High School Diploma or GED. Preferred one to two years Trade School or experience in industrial machining.
** SECIAL

SKILLS:

** Lathe work, grinding, drilling, fitting and pressing operation, ability to read and use micrometers, and gauges; knowledge of parts, must work well with others.
** RESPONSIBILITIES:
*** Check drive card for special instructions.
* Check gear serial numbers, model and ratio to ensure they meet drive card specifications.
* Check ground surfaces on shafts for damage to critical areas.
* Assemble and set bearings and gears to specifications, mounting distances and backlash.
* Check position of oil line to spiral bevel gears.
* Inspect and ensure assembly is complete.
* Documentation – gear MD’s, spacer lengths, gear serial numbers, bearing settings, heat numbers (if applicable) are recorded onto drive card.
* Paperwork forwarded and filed as necessary.

* PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

** Standing at least 8 hours per day, lifting to 50 lbs., frequent bending, and stooping.
