Senior Tax Manager
is a leading global digital travel company based in Amsterdam. We are looking for a Senior Tax Manager to join the Central Tax Hub. The role focuses on leading complex global tax matters across multiple departments, domains, and geographies, ensuring compliance and driving tax strategy.
Job OverviewThe Senior Tax Manager will own and execute high‑impact tax programs, serve as the tax technical owner for strategic initiatives, partner with business and technology stakeholders, assess risk, and ensure correct implementation. The role spans major business areas and strategic initiatives, bridging legislation, business model design, risk appetite, and execution.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and drive high‑complexity tax matters across horizontal company priority programs, from scoping to implementation and monitoring.
- Act as the tax technical owner for strategic programs, translating positions into practical, scalable business requirements.
- Partner with teams on prioritization and clear, actionable tax requirements.
- Assess business alignment, monitor risks, and approve tax positions and mitigation approaches.
- Ensure tax requirements are correctly implemented and operationally feasible.
- Build partnerships to create buy‑in, remove ambiguity, and drive timely decisions.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging AI technologies to optimise tax processes and support decision‑making.
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax Economics, Law, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in a Big 4 or international environment, and in‑house experience in the digital economy/e‑commerce industry.
- Expertise in digital‑economy tax challenges (OTA business, marketplace facilitator statutes, deemed supplier rules, platform collection and remittance obligations, VAT/GST/sales taxes).
- Excellent knowledge of international tax regulations and indirect tax frameworks;
North America and LATAM knowledge is a plus. - Extensive experience leading complex tax matters with significant business and cross‑functional impact.
- Experience with tax compliance, accounting, or technology.
- Ability to navigate complex organisations, bring together functions, and anticipate future exposures.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, influencing decisions across seniority levels.
- Comfortable operating under pressure and with strict deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proactive, pragmatic, execution‑oriented, creating new solutions for complex initiatives.
- Incorporate AI‑enabled ways of working responsibly to improve velocity and consistency.
- Strong judgment and ethical sense of risk management and materiality.
- Excellent communication skills in English for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
