About the Role
FTI M&A advisory team provides corporates, business owners and private equity and other investors a variety of M&A and corporate development services including strategic reviews, advisory on acquisitions, divestments, leveraged buy‑outs, carve‑outs and restructuring advisory. The team focuses on transactions in the Netherlands and works on transactions typically with a degree of complexity.
Responsibilities- Support Managing Directors in delivery of ideas and content on marketing pitches and quarterback execution on live transactions.
- Manage more junior resources in on‑time delivery of a quality work product.
- Support and manage business development opportunities and oversee client pitch presentations, idea development and deal execution.
- Identify and deliver creative marketing ideas and business solutions in support of corporate strategies.
- Act on day‑to‑day management of transactions and assignments, reviewing pitchbooks, memorandums, presentations and other projects with minimal oversight.
- Review financial models and analyze a wide variety of client‑specific projects (DCF, DDM, LBO).
- Assist in origination and execution of domestic or cross‑border transactions, including evaluating risk factors, valuation, strategic reviews, competitor analysis, accounting, and other technical issues.
- Manage comprehensive financial and mathematical modelling and analysis.
- Manage the workflow of the junior team, aligning tasks with transaction/departmental goals and objectives.
- Mentor and coach the junior team, supporting career development.
- 7‑10 years of relevant experience in M&A.
- Understanding of M&A, Corporate Strategy, Equity Raising, Debt Raising and/or Transaction due diligence.
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, work ethic and teamwork.
- Self‑motivated with a strong desire to excel.
- Expertise in financial computer applications and database management tools including MS Excel; strong proficiency in other Microsoft Office products.
- Good judgment in confidential situations and discretion.
- Ability to advocate persuasively.
- Ability to work under time constraints and with limited supervision.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to independently and proactively serve multiple clients and manage multiple priorities.
- Hardworking and resilient.
- Proficiency in Dutch language required.
- University degree in finance or economics; high academic achievement.
- MBA, CFA or equivalent experience in financial services, accounting or legal fields (preferred but not required).
