Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Electrical Engineering
Job Summary
The I&E Technician is responsible for installing and repairing equipment, facilities, and tools in support of field operations. This position will identify areas of improvement and ensure facilities are operating efficiently.
Essential Duties- Identifies current and future Instrumentation/Controls requirements by establishing a rapport with management, engineering, production personnel, technicians, and other persons in a position to understand controls requirements.
- Installs and repairs electrical components as necessary to support ongoing operations and facility upgrades.
- Ensures production operations by determining work priorities and scheduling repair, maintenance, and installation of controls equipment.
- Supports product development and improvement by reviewing new product plans, discussing equipment needs and modifications, and coordinating activities with other facility crafts.
- Supports and maintains Electronic, Mechanical and Pneumatic instrumentation of various types and manufacturers.
- Supports and maintains Facility Automation and SCADA Equipment.
- Performs heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time.
- Effectively communicates verbally and in writing.
- Understands and carries out written and oral instructions.
- Works collaboratively to accurately solve problems.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, and the public.
- Supports company vision and mission.
- Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.
- Supports AES zero-incident safety culture and assumes personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
- Other duties will be assigned to this position as needed.
- 5+ years' experience in instrumentation maintenance
- Must be available 24 hours per day while on hire (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.)
- Must have the ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities
- Instrumentation, Process Control, or equivalent degree
- Relevant certification in instrumentation or electrical field
- Experience working in the oil and gas industry
- Prior experience working on the North Slope

Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe physical demands include heavy manual tasks for extended periods and working in remote, Arctic conditions. A post‑offer, pre‑hire Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted. Candidates must comply with ASRC Energy Driving Records and Motor Vehicle Use Policy, pass a pre‑employment drug test (urinalysis and hair testing), and meet the physical requirements of a remote, Arctic work location. Candidates also must pass a Fit‑for‑Duty Exam, complete a background check, and maintain an access badge.
