BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE

General Description:

  • Business Development is an integral function to our company. A Business Development Representative requires strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to understand the customer.

  • To be successful in this role, you must be capable of cultivating solid relationships with customers, from first contact until the close of the transaction.
  • You will also need to have post-closing service/follow up, and be motivated and results-driven. You must enjoy working in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with current clients and identify new prospects within the area you have been assigned.
  • Maintain personal networks and participate in professional organizations.
  • Follow the latest industry developments and stay up-to-date with corporate competitors
  • Communicate and work directly with customers: clients, lenders, attorneys and licensees
  • Solicit clients for title and escrow orders
  • Use excellent problem solving skills to assist in resolution of client issues
  • Attend sales meetings at brokerages and lenders
  • Attend industry functions as a representative of the company
  • Contact potential clients through cold calls
  • Report to the Business Development Manager weekly, monthly and quarterly
  • Provide engaging presentations for training and education within the industry
  • Deliver time sensitive title and escrow related documents to appropriate customer
  • Take signings; ensure documents have complete and accurate client signatures
  • Assist with Bank deposits and deliveries to include pick-up or drop-off
  • Assist President in all duties assigned

Abilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Possess good decision-making skills with the ability to learn quickly and problem solve
  • Within 90 days of hire date, must pass the Producer’s License exam with the Division of Insurance
  • Must be a notary public
  • Must be punctual and dependable
  • Must be assertive, have a positive attitude, and be willing to learn
  • Must be able to keep all proprietary information confidential
  • Must be able to take direction and work closely with the Escrow Manager and the Business Development Manager
  • Possess good decision-making skills with the ability to learn quickly and problem solve
  • Possess exceptional customer service and communication skills: written, in person, and by phone
  • Possess a strong understanding of the title industry, our competition in the industry and positioning
  • Ability to comprehend and type correspondence using proper grammar, spelling and punctuation
  • Ability to interact with all departments within the company; function effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to work flexible hours, as position will include attending evening and weekend events
  • Proficient typing, computer skills and general knowledge of office equipment

Capable of lifting 25 pounds, and able to sit or stand for extended periods of time

  • Possess a valid U.S. driver's license, proof of insurance and have reliable transportation
  • Professional work attire

Education/Experience:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Escrow, title, mortgage, or real estate experience a plus
  • Minimum 2 – 5 years marketing experience required

Compensation:

  • Depending on experience (DOE)

Supervised by:

  • Business Development Manager and/or President
