DGOC is an established owner and operator of conventional and unconventional natural gas & oil wells, midstream pipelines and compression stations in the Appalachian and Central Regions.

Position Summary & Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Viewed as a fully competent Lease Operator. Works under moderate supervision to perform all routine duties and daily responsibilities. Has the functional and technical skills to perform the job and to solve moderately complex problems and issues. Monitors, maintains, and reports the operation of wells and sites on an assigned route.

Key Responsibilities
  • Make routine checks on all well sites according to schedule and monitor production equipment, including compressors, pumpjacks, plunger lifts, dehydrators, meters, separators and safety devices. Perform light maintenance on equipment as necessary to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Inspect lease sites to ensure they are clean and free of debris and overgrown vegetation.
  • Manage daily fluid production; gauge and record oil and water tank levels.
  • Gather daily, monthly and quarterly data and submit all required reports and tickets in a timely manner; meet deadlines with few errors or missing information.
  • Analyze production‑related issues and work with foreman and other personnel to troubleshoot and resolve them.
  • Communicate regularly with the production foreman on daily plans and issues; participate in periodic well reviews and safety meetings.
  • Work to optimize production in a safe, cost‑effective manner.
  • Participate in on‑call rotation, which may include nights and weekends.
  • Check for and address spills, fluid leaks, and trip hazards.
  • Ensure company‑provided vehicle is properly maintained.
  • Respond to after‑hours emergencies when necessary.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment on a routine basis.
  • Read and interpret various types of meter charts.
  • Assess the route and create a daily, weekly, and monthly schedule; recognize and implement necessary schedule adjustments.
  • Show familiarity with multiple types of artificial lift and troubleshoot with assistance from senior lease operators or the foreman, including plunger lift systems and electric or gas/gasoline pumping units.
  • Balance production of a route/field; assess inputs and outputs to determine potential line‑loss situations.
  • Demonstrate competency in operational processes such as returning wells to production, pre‑start‑up checks, and blow‑down procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Ability to remain calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as dictated by the circumstance of the incident.
  • Ability to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit areas where it is required – e.g., hard hat, safety glasses, respirators, earplugs, steel‑toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by location and work performed.
  • Knowledge of company computer software associated with electronic measurement data collection, such as Cygnet, FDC, and Flow Cal.
  • Two years of oil‑field experience preferred.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Must be able to move or traverse from one location on the job site to another. This includes the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, to stoop, kneel, or squat, and to ascend/descend ladders or uneven terrain.
  • Ability to detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, estimate, and assess driving operations effectively (either naturally or with corrective lenses).
  • Ability to operate a 4X4 vehicle.
  • Must be able to repetitively move or position feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, and back; constantly use, position, and manipulate hands and fingers while performing work.
  • Must be able to work atop elevated surfaces and traverse various heights.
