Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Unit
Full‑time 0.9 FTE, 12‑hour shifts (night/day) with weekend and holiday rotations.
Location:
UP Health System – Marquette, Michigan.
Sign‑on bonus: $7,500 (based on eligibility).
About the TeamThe cardiac department has 36 beds. Patient population includes cardiac and CVA patients—post‑op CABG, pacemaker, bradycardia, tachycardia, SVT, AFIB with RVR, new a‑fib, acute MI, PCI, fem/fem bypass, CEAs, and more. Step‑down (IMCU) patients are also cared for. Nurses gain exposure to critical patients, bridging to ED and ICU.
Responsibilities- Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatment.
- Documents patient care provided.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.
State of Michigan RN license required. Associate degree from an accredited nursing school (Bachelor’s preferred).
- Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS‑HCP).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year.
