Job Summary

The Pennathur Lab in the Internal Medicine Department/Division of Nephrology seeks a Research Lab Specialist to contribute to NIH-funded Centers and associated faculty. The specialist will perform bioinformatics data analysis for the Nutrition and Obesity Center and O'Brien Kidney Center.

• Perform computational analysis of metabolomics and lipidomics data and integrate with other
  -omics data sets.
• Expertise with lipidomics data is required.
• Analyze lipidomics data using software such as Lipid Explorer, data parsing, imputation, statistical analysis and data visualization tools.
• Document proficiency through publications in this area.
• Apply domain knowledge in renal disease and disorders related to nutrition and obesity.
• Train students and postdoctoral fellows in metabolomics data integration.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operation of the laboratory.
• Schedule and maintain records of equipment and facility.
• Supervise research support personnel.
• Assemble, test, calibrate, clean or make minor repairs to equipment.

• 1‑3 years of experience.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision on data analysis and interact with core personnel and investigators to meet their data needs.

• Master’s in Biology, Biochemistry, or a closely related field preferred.
• 4‑5 years of related experience preferred.
