Job Overview
Miller Electric is seeking a Fabrication Support (Painter) to join the Components Division team. The successful candidate will support manufacturing operations while ensuring product quality and efficiency. This fast‑paced, quality‑focused role includes responsibilities such as operating and maintaining powder paint booths and systems, ensuring high‑quality finishes that meet company standards and customer expectations, installing PEM nuts and weld nuts, moving materials, running gear, and other support tasks throughout the shift.
The candidate should demonstrate a safety‑first mentality, practice effective communication within a team environment, and have an interest in moving toward a Fabricator role. Those interested in advancing may participate in the Internal Fabrication Training Program.
- Set up and run powder paint booths and paint systems.
- Perform regular preventative maintenance on paint booths and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the paint system during operation.
- Inspect product finishes to ensure they meet company standards and customer expectations.
- Clean and maintain painting equipment, booths, and work area on a daily basis.
- Load and unload parts on the paint line.
- Perform quality checks and package products according to customer requirements.
- Crosstrain in all areas of the Paint Department.
- Assist in other areas of the department as needed.
- Install PEM nuts and weld nuts onto components, ensuring proper placement and secure attachment. No setup required.
- Move materials as needed to support production flow.
- Receive training in painting techniques and processes.
- Maintain a proven safety and quality record.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to support operations.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Reliable, self‑motivated, and team‑oriented with strong communication skills.
- Self‑starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to operate and troubleshoot equipment.
- Able to manage time efficiently and understand order scheduling and completion.
- Innovative mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced production environment.
- Detail oriented.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must be willing to cross‑train.
- Must be able to stand for up to 12 hours a day and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be willing to work overtime (10‑12 hours) when needed.
