Traffic Engineer
Full Time Project Engineer Maryland - Baltimore, Halethorpe, MD, US

Salary Range: $95,000.00 To $ Annually
What You’ll DoYou will support the planning, analysis, and design of transportation projects with a focus on traffic engineering solutions. This includes conducting data-driven studies, preparing traffic control device designs, and contributing to the production of construction documents for public infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities Traffic Analysis & Studies- Conduct traffic engineering analyses including signal warrant studies, traffic impact studies, operational analyses, and corridor safety assessments.
- Perform capacity and level-of-service evaluations using industry-standard software.
- Support multimodal and safety-focused traffic assessments.
- Assist in the preparation of traffic control device designs, including traffic signals, signage, and pavement markings.
- Prepare design plans, specifications, and cost estimates for traffic signals, signing and striping, and temporary traffic control.
- Contribute to maintenance of traffic (MOT) and temporary traffic control plans.
- Support senior engineers in preparation of technical memoranda, reports, and exhibits.
- Coordinate with roadway, structural, environmental, and construction teams.
- Participate in internal quality control reviews and design meetings.
- Assist with agency coordination and response to review comments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in traffic or transportation engineering.
- Proficiency with traffic engineering design and analysis software (e.g., Synchro, HCS, AutoCAD, Micro Station).
- Familiarity with MUTCD, AASHTO, and applicable MDOT or VDOT standards.
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
