Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Bachoco USA Poultry Litter Service Technician is responsible for carrying out the poultry litter removal in broiler farms operated by Bachoco USA. This includes the proper handling of agricultural tractors, the transportation of equipment to the farms, and effective coordination with farm growers to ensure the timely and safe execution of the service.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance- Operate agricultural tractors and specialized equipment required for poultry litter removal.
- Perform basic inspections and maintenance of the tractor and equipment before and after each job.
- Ensure that all machinery is used correctly and safely according to operational guidelines.
- Load, secure, and transport the tractor and equipment using a trailer to designated farm locations.
- Ensure that all transportation complies with safety regulations and company protocols.
- Maintain the trailer and towing vehicle in proper working condition.
- Ensure that all necessary preparations are made before beginning work on each farm.
- Identify and report any potential hazards that could affect work performance or personal safety.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Immediately inform Technicians of any incidents, mechanical failures, or safety concerns.
- Provide timely updates on work progress, including any issues encountered.
- Document completed services, noting any complications or deviations from the original plan.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with both the Technician and farm growers.
This position has no Supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications- Previous experience in poultry farming or waste management, particularly in litter handling, is required.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
- Knowledge of poultry operations, including biosecurity protocols, animal welfare, and environmental regulations.
- Ability to operate machinery and tools related to litter management.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsMust have a valid driver’s license, and qualify for the company driving program.
