Mechanical Design Engineer Sr
You will be the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for an Integrated Air and Missile Defense - Advanced Programs development team. You will support the Integrated Product Team in creating detailed designs, layouts, and drawings for various components and subassemblies of the missile system.
Business Unit: MISSILES AND FIRE CONTROL. Experience Level: Experienced Professional.
Work Schedule:
4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week. Relocation Available:

- Developing and generating Creo layouts and detailed model-based designs (MBD) for ICDs, components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and integration test articles.
- Building BOMs, creating parts, assemblies, and design documentation within Windchill PLM.
- Coordinating with the IPT team, suppliers, GSC, electronic packaging, RF engineering, and structural/thermal/material analysts to ensure design excellence.
- Managing design releases, responding to change requests, generating CNs, and presenting/supporting change boards and design reviews.
- Performing design trade studies to evaluate cost, weight, performance, and structural/thermal benefits.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in an Engineering related field.
- Comprehensive understanding of mechanical design engineering principles and demonstrated knowledge of industry practices.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and ability to perform complex detailed part and subsystem tolerance analysis.
- Minimum 3 years experience with Creo or similar 3D computer-aided design software.
- Ability to generate engineering drawings, documents, parts lists and specifications.
- Ability to work with minimal oversight or supervision.
- Ability to lead investigative efforts and report status to interdisciplinary teams.
- Hands‑on experience with machining, rapid prototyping, or lab equipment (CNC, 3‑D printers, test rigs).
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Model‑Based Definition (MBD).
- Experience with aerospace hardware such as structures, optical or radio frequency (RF) sensors, energetics, propulsion, or flight control systems.
- Experience with phases of aerospace systems lifecycle from proposal and capture efforts, development, transition to production, production, and sustainment.
This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. Citizen. Clearance Level: Secret.
