Community Support Specialist School-Based

Department: School-Based Youth CPRC

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Arnold - Municipal Drive

Reporting To: Kimberly Farris Wilson

Compensation: $25.54 - $26.81 / hour

Description

Be a Bridge for Student Wellness as a Community Support Specialist School-Based. Step into a meaningful role supporting students and families by bringing behavioral health services directly into school communities. As a School-Based Community Support Specialist, you’ll partner with educators, families, and students to promote resilience, access resources, and improve mental health outcomes right where they’re needed most.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a liaison between the school, families, and behavioral health services
  • Support students with individualized, goal-oriented behavioral health services
  • Provide education, coaching, and skill-building to students, families, and school staff

    Collaborate with school teams and other professionals to advocate for student needs
  • Assist families in navigating and accessing resources in the community
  • Complete wellness plans, documentation, and assessments in accordance with agency standards
  • Help students and families build natural support systems and long-term resilience
  • Drive to school and community locations to provide services as needed
Requirements, Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • High School/GED required
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in a human service related field preferred
  • Must qualify for position based on overall CSS requirements in at least one of the options listed:
  • Qualified addiction professional
  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from a college or university included in the U.S. Department of Education’s database of accredited schools at (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below)./accreditation
  • Any four-year degree or combination of higher education and qualifying experience
  • Four years of qualifying experience
  • Associate of Applied Science in Behavioral Health Support degree as designated by the Department of Mental Health
  • Qualifying experience must include delivery of service to individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, or developmental disabilities
  • A valid driver's license and agency established minimum automobile coverage required
