About the Position
Park County Government serves over 18,000 residents and maintains the county's services. This maintenance position requires proficiency in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and mechanical work with general supervision. The role includes physical work for snow removal, grounds maintenance, and special projects using specialized equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Snow removal from walkways, sidewalks and/or driveways of county buildings as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor using snow shovels, snow blower, loader (Bobcat), or plow truck.
- Grounds maintenance of all county facilities including trash removal, weed removal, sweeping, mowing, etc. as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Facilities maintenance projects including painting, trash removal, replacing light bulbs, etc. as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Assist other Maintenance Workers and/or Maintenance Specialist with special projects including painting, plumbing, drywall, construction as directed.
- Other related duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work weekends, holidays and overtime as necessary.
- Ability to follow policies and procedures.
- Ability to follow directions, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and follow through with assigned projects.
- Ability to perform moderately strenuous physical labor.
This position requires the ability to do moderately strenuous work on a continuous basis, both indoors and outdoors. Outdoor work, such as window cleaning, might occur during cold, windy or other unknown weather conditions. Climbing stairs and ladders, reaching, bending, and stooping, and pushing and/or operating equipment are required daily. Many duties require the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Some travel to other County locations is required. Physical demand includes exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or frequently, and/or maintaining equilibrium when bending, stooping, crouching, climbing, reaching and/or stretching arms.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One to two years of experience in a similar or related field preferred but not required.
- Completion of biohazards training within one year of hire.
- Completion of training and demonstration of proficiency operating specialized equipment within one year of hire.

CompensationHourly wage: $21.54 – $25.00 per hour, DOE/Q plus benefits.
