Position Summary… We are in search of a highly skilled professional to lead our Data Center Compute Services team located in Ashburn, VA. This pivotal role will involve operating in our multiple colocation data center facilities located in that region, including the racking and stacking of IT assets, shipping and receiving, responding to customer requests, and diagnosing complex IT issues.

Our team builds and maintains the foundational technologies that support the tech organization. Included in this are data platforms, enterprise architecture, Dev Ops, cloud computing, and infrastructure. All of these products and services are supported by scalable and powerful infrastructure, ensuring a secure and seamless employee and customer experience across stores, digital channels, and distribution centers.
Responsibilities- Assisting in the management of the physical IT infrastructure of the data center, includes proper installation, maintenance, lifecycle of hardware, and documentation.
- Supporting the implementation and maintenance of security measures, controlling access to the facility, escorting vendors as needed.
- Ensuring the availability of data and systems by supporting network and power redundancy, validating the work performed by internal and external teams.
- Monitoring the physical capacity of the data center infrastructure, analyzing performance, planning for equipment upgrades and expansions, and ensuring load balancing at rack level.
- Responding to and resolving technical issues and incidents within the data center, troubleshooting hardware and software problems, coordinating with vendors and engineers for repairs, and minimizing downtime.
- Assisting in day‑to‑day operations of the data center team, taking on assigned tasks, staying trained in the latest technologies and best practices.
- Supporting compliance with relevant regulations and standards such as OSHA, PCI, HIPAA, and other industry‑specific regulations, maintaining documentation, assisting in audits, and implementing necessary controls.
- Assisting in maintaining accurate budgeting processes, reviewing and validating invoices for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Engaging customers directly, using strong communication and active listening skills, and collaborating with teams across the world.
- Solid understanding of data center operations, including basic knowledge of servers, networking, and power balancing. Familiarity with software tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Service Now, Nlyte, and SharePoint. Proficiency in typing, email communication, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Good teamwork skills, able to follow goals, take on delegated tasks efficiently, and support team members.
- Ability to analyze situations, identify issues, and contribute to effective solutions. Capable of making decisions based on the available information and prioritizing tasks to ensure smooth operations.
- Attention to detail and organization—adhering to documentation practices and ensuring procedures are accurately followed.
- Adaptability and flexibility to adjust plans to evolving needs and challenges, including emergencies.
- Willingness to learn and stay updated on the latest industry trends, advancements, and security protocols.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, information technology, or a related area.
- 3 years’ experience in technology infrastructure engineering across areas such as compute, storage, network, mobility or virtualization related technologies.
- Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, knowledge of implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.

Salary Range$84,000 – $156,000, plus annual or quarterly performance bonuses and stock options.
