About the Position
The (AFSO) Assistant Facility Security Officer reports directly to the FSO and assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of security procedures as required by the Cleared Facility, the Department of Defense (DOD), Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency and 32 CFR Part 117 - National Industrial Security Manual (NISPOM).
US CitizenshipUS citizenship is a mandatory requirement due to the nature of work and the need to obtain the required security clearance.
Duties- Assists the FSO with the overall security program
- People and Culture liaison (HR)
- Pre‑employment new hire assessments
- Processes new employee security clearances
- Tracks security clearance investigations and performs administrative support functions, including Defense Information for Security (DISS) and Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing (e‑App) administration
- Provides security briefings, debriefings, and awareness training for site personnel
- Processes outgoing visit requests and certifications
- Tracks unofficial international travel for cleared personnel
- Reviews required forms, processes, and screens security forms (SF85 and SF86)
- Ensures document control security by safeguarding classified documents in accordance with the NISPOM and through coordination with government agencies and the FSO
- Assists in preparation for facility reviews and inspections
- Develops, implements, and oversees federal security clearance program
- Provides training for AFSO’s and classified/secure project personnel
- Oversees completion and retention of personnel security clearance records
- Oversees and assists the FSO with self‑inspection and review of security processes to ensure compliance with relevant laws
- Oversees and assists the FSO with coordination of closeout for all classified projects
- Oversees company CUI / ITAR processes and compliance
- Supports other company security disciplines as needed in connection with classified/secure projects (Legal, Information Technology, and Corporate Communications)
- Travels to DXC and client sites
- Performs presentations and training
- May perform other duties within the assigned department as needed
- May supervise department activities in the absence of the FSO to achieve maximum security requirements and continuity of productivity
- DCSA‑qualified FSO or 2 years’ experience in security programs as AFSO or in a related field
- Preferred TS level clearance (or able to obtain); must possess at minimum a DOD secret clearance
- Strong knowledge of DISS, NISS, NBIS government programs, SF85 and SF86, DD 254 and DD 441, and SF 328
- In‑depth knowledge of NISPOM requirements, strong computer skills and cyber knowledge
- Completion or having completed Non‑possessing Facility, Program Management for Possessing Facilities, Introduction to Industrial Security, and Insider Threat Overview Training courses
- Ability to interpret and implement security policy, provide guidance, oversight, and assistance to company personnel
- Demonstrated ability to manage and oversee a comprehensive Security Compliance Program
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong people skills; works independently and in a team
- Preferred bachelor’s degree
- Completion of applicable DCSA courses
- Preferred certifications:
- Non‑possessing Facility
- Program Management for Possessing Facilities
- Introduction to Industrial Security
- Insider Threat Overview
