Mountain Area Health Education Center's (MAHEC) Division of Psychiatry seeks to hire a qualified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to provide continuous and comprehensive services necessary for the promotion of optimal mental health, prevention and treatment of psychiatric disorders and health maintenance to children, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients, in an outpatient mental health clinic. This includes the assessment, diagnosis, and management of mental health problems and psychiatric disorders. The APP works collaboratively with other on site medical and mental health providers as well as with community PCPs and Providers. This role also serves in a teaching capacity as a faculty member of the Psychiatry Residency Program.

Required education and/or experience includes Master's Degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and two years of experience in PMHNP role. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and active North Carolina Nursing License required. Adult teaching experience and ANCC Certification preferred.
