Position: BH QUALITY/PI COORDINATOR

Responsibilities

Oak Plains Academy is a comprehensive and highly structured 98‑bed residential treatment program offering psychiatric residential treatment services to children and adolescents struggling with emotional and behavioral issues. Residents receive individualized treatment plans tailored to meet their personal needs. A professional team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, therapists, nurses, and teachers serves hundreds of children and adolescents annually with the common goal of treating and healing trauma and building resiliency in the residents we serve.

Located on 20 acres of rolling hills in a rural setting, about 45 minutes from Nashville, Tennessee, the campus features a full‑size gymnasium, dining hall, separate academic building, and four dormitories.

The Performance Improvement Coordinator plans, coordinates, directs, and carries out activities related to the facility‑wide performance and quality improvement program and processes. The Coordinator ensures that the facility is in compliance with the Joint Commission, CMS, AHCA, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies’ standards. Responding quickly and proactively to performance indicators and data results in higher quality staff and superior patient care.

The Coordinator audits records to ensure documentation is completed timely, effectively, and according to facility policy, ensures staff is following established policies and procedures, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards, contracts, licensing standards, and guidelines. The Coordinator assists the PI Director in preparing for and conducting the monthly PI Committee and implements action plans derived from those meetings and regulatory surveys.

Qualifications

Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred in nursing or a related field.

One to two years’ experience with knowledge of Performance Improvement/Quality Management preferred. Strong knowledge of the Joint Commission, CMS, AHCA, OSHA standards and any other applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing mental health care facilities.

Must have good verbal and written communications skills to communicate in a clear and concise manner with employees, patients, the general public, physicians and administrative personnel. Must possess good analytical ability to interpret and analyze performance and quality improvement data. Must be able to plan, direct, implement and evaluate performance and quality improvement activities for the facility. Must have excellent computer skills.
