The position is renewable based on satisfactory performance and funding, and requires an experienced researcher who can use molecular genetics, population biology, and macroevolutionary analyses to characterize invasive populations and compare them with native or intact populations.

Responsibilities

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including molecular genetic analysis, sample collection planning, macroevolutionary data compilation, and phylogeographic analysis.
  • Demonstrated track record in project design, publishing, and obtaining extramural funding.
  • Expertise in invasive species biology, macroecology, phylogenetics, functional trait evolution, and ant biology.
  • Preferred: 3–5 years of postdoctoral research experience.
Physical Demands
  • Access to laboratory and field equipment; control of non‑financial resources.
  • Requires no driving or handling of hazardous chemicals.
Background Investigation
  • Employment offers are contingent upon a comprehensive background investigation and, if applicable, a satisfactory credit check and pre‑employment drug test for positions with high‑risk responsibilities.
