We’re looking for experienced operating room Surgical Technologist with two+ years of multispecialty service-line experience. Our Technologist are integral members of inter‑professional teams in hospitals and clinics that are committed to outstanding patient care, driven by their expertise, compassion and operate at a higher level of practice.

• Implements and evaluates care of patients undergoing diagnostic and invasive surgical procedures.
• Keeps the Perioperative team abreast of the procedure needs and progress.
• Identifies more complex patient needs by reviewing procedure protocol, physician's request, and assessing the patient's physical needs.
• Prioritizes procedure process and supplies for specialty group of patients.
• Plans for surgical procedure based on identified needs of surgeon and patient, implementing intervention for identified patient problems as related to surgical procedure and patient needs.
• Utilizes appropriate standards of care, and/or collaborative clinical pathways to guide the plan of care.
• Determine the equipment, materials, and resources needed to meet the patient procedure plan.
• Participates in identifying cost containment activities. Monitors and maintains supplies and initiates purchases to ensure par levels.
• Successfully completes hospital and department‑based orientation programs, attending educational programs to develop optimal knowledge in area of specialty.

• A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent job training. Certification in Surgical Technology preferred.
• Two years multispecialty experience. Must be able to function as a clinical expert in at least one service line and have the ability to float to other service lines, as needed.
• Specialty areas include:
  Complex GYN, Complex Ortho/Spine, ENT, General Surgery, Ophthalmology (Corneal; Retina Cell transplants), Robotics, Thoracic and Vascular.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.

At Emory University Hospital Midtown our Perioperative Surgical Department consist of 28 OR suites with 3 to 4 designated for cardiovascular cases. Our service lines include:
General, GYN, Urology, Bariatrics, Robotics, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Podiatry, ENT, Skull Base, OMFS, Plastics, and CVOR. We are staffed 365 day a year. There can be some late, on call and/or holiday requirements as well as a rotation to cover overnight shifts and weekend shifts for those dedicated teams. There is an orientation period of 8-12 weeks, depending on experience.
