Data Scientist, Machine Learning/ ML Engineer, Data Analyst
ABOUT THIS POSITION
We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist. The role involves solving data-driven healthcare problems using various machine learning and predictive modeling methods. This person will primarily work as part of the larger Data Science team interacting with Product Management and Application teams to conduct analysis and experimentation to maximize the utility of predictive modeling and data-driven strategies across the organization.
The ideal candidate will have exposure to the healthcare revenue cycle, can approach problem‑solving challenges independently, has a strong attention to detail, and enjoys working in a fast‑paced, collaborative, and team-based environment.
Work closely with other Data Scientists, Application Engineering, Product Management, and Operational teams in designing, experimenting with, and implementing machine learning to drive operational value.
Work closely with Application Engineering teams to gather and process data, as well as to surface various analytically based features in core products.
Develop new applications of machine learning and analytic technology within healthcare, producing quantitative, justifiable results to guide feature planning.
Translate real‑world healthcare problems to mathematical frameworks.
Collaborate with Product Management, Marketing, and Sales as needed to promote sales and incorporate market and customer feedback.
Engage in data exploration, hypothesis creation from business and product goals, testing algorithms, scaling to large data sets, and validating results. These tasks will be common throughout the role.
Understand, organize, and communicate findings succinctly.
Familiarity with statistical techniques and machine learning methods including classification, regression, dimensionality reduction, clustering, and various multivariate methods.
Full familiarity with empirical performance evaluation of models, including hold‑out sets, cross‑validation, and leave‑one‑out testing.
Demonstrated competency in R and Python predictive modeling.
Demonstrated competency in RDBMS (e.g., SQL Server).

Strong presentation abilities and the ability to communicate with all levels of the business.
Comfortable working in ambiguous areas where learning and adaptability are key skills.
Competent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or Mathematics is required.
Additional experience and/or education in healthcare, business operations, or related areas is preferred.
An aptitude for medical informatics is preferred.
