Job Title: IT Field Technician
Location: Varies - East Atlanta, Cobb, Gwinnett, Georgia
Reports To: VP, Information of Technology
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Salary: $31.87 - $35.93 per hour
The IT Field Technician is responsible for performing on‑site technical work across all Planned Parenthood Southeast (PPSE) sites. The position ensures that all desktop support activities, including site visits and remote support, are performed efficiently and aligned with organizational needs. They will manage and complete equipment installations, end‑user and network systems hardware installation, setup, and coordinate light engineering activities including cabling installations, electrical and phone cabling.
The role works closely with staff to resolve support issues and ensures smooth operation of all end‑user systems. Additionally, the IT Field Technician works closely with PPSE’s Managed Services Provider to support other technical needs as necessary.

- Associate degree or relevant certification and equivalent experience required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - 5+ years of general IT experience and 2 years of systems and network experience.
- Strong experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting desktop hardware, operating systems, and applications.
- Familiarity with endpoint security tools and best practices, including antivirus, DLP, and patch management solutions.
- Intermediate experience in TCP/IP networking, switching, routing, VoIP, and firewalls.
- Knowledge of system monitoring tools and commands to resolve issues quickly.
- Understanding of security implications of technology solutions and proactive compliance with Information Security policies.
- Technical certifications strongly preferred.
- Experience working in a healthcare or other highly regulated environment is preferred.
- Coordinate and perform site visits for end‑user device support and troubleshooting at all PPSE sites.
- Triage and manage support tickets, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Assist with escalated support requests for desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and mobile devices.
- Manage Mobile Device Management (MDM), Endpoint Protection, Windows and application patching for all end‑user devices.
- Ensure adherence to SLAs and performance metrics specific to Desktop Technician’s area of responsibility.
- Support IT project work, balancing support responsibilities with infrastructure‑related project initiatives.
- Develop and maintain documentation for desktop configurations, processes, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure compliance with industry and security standards for desktop management, including endpoint security and regular patching.
- Collaborate with external and internal teams for onsite technology implementations, including network cabling, HVAC, UPS, ISP, phone services, equipment setups, hardware provisioning, software deployments, and telecommunication needs.
