Overview

Client is seeking a Business Analyst to support banking and financial services initiatives across business and technology teams. This role focuses on gathering requirements, analyzing business processes and data, and helping drive solutions related to banking operations, regulatory reporting, and enterprise systems.

This is a traditional banking BA role - not highly technical, but requires strong analytical thinking, stakeholder engagement, and experience working with financial data and regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to gather, document, and validate business and functional requirements
• Analyze current-state and future-state business processes, workflows, and data flows
• Translate business needs into clear requirements, user stories, and functional specifications
• Support initiatives related to banking operations, financial reporting, compliance, and regulatory requirements
• Participate in meetings with business, product, and technology teams to clarify requirements and resolve issues
• Assist with data analysis and validation efforts (queries, reconciliation, reporting support as needed)
• Support UAT planning and execution; help validate solutions meet business requirements
• Maintain accurate documentation including BRDs, FRDs, process flows, and traceability
• Act as a liaison between business users and IT teams to ensure solutions align with business goals

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in a banking or financial services environment
• Working knowledge of banking operations, financial products, or regulatory reporting
• Strong experience gathering and documenting requirements and business processes
• Comfortable working with data (Excel, basic SQL or reporting tools preferred but not required)
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional business and technology teams
• Strong communication skills - able to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Familiarity with SDLC, Agile, or hybrid delivery environments
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting regulatory, risk, compliance, or finance-related initiatives
• Exposure to banking platforms, reporting systems, or data warehouses
• Prior experience working in mid-to-large financial institutions
