Job Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, replace, modify, install, calibrate, test, evaluate, and ensure airworthiness of all electrical/electronic equipment, parts, components, or systems on aircraft.
- Perform general maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, replacement, modification, installation, calibration, test, and evaluations on FIS aircraft electrical/electronic equipment to verify proper installation and operation per FAA and OEM regulations.
- Use FAA standards to determine the airworthiness of aircraft under FIS mission‑specific certificates.
- Take test readings of non‑functioning electrical/electronic equipment using instruments such as digital multimeters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, oscilloscopes, etc., analyze results to determine maintenance and repair requirements.
- Troubleshoot equipment, implement repair procedures, replace inoperative equipment, maintaining compliance with all applicable FAA airworthiness regulations and technical publications.
- Use tools (e.g., electronic testing equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, etc.) per OEM specifications to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, install, replace, modify, calibrate, test, and evaluate FIS aircraft electrical/electronic equipment.
- Perform daily tool inventory per TI 4100.24 Section 3.16; report missing tools immediately.
- At least 3 years of experience as an aircraft avionics technician in an FAA certified Part 121, 135, or 145 repair station working on transport‑category aircraft.
- Do NOT have Department of Defense aircraft experience.
Salary: $49.28 per hour
Additional Compensation: Health and welfare rate of $4.57 per hour, usable for medical expenses or rolled into a 401(k) at year end.
Must be: U.S. citizen
Location: Atlantic City, New Jersey – Atlantic City International Airport, William J. Hughes Technical Center
