Hours:
24. Sign‑on bonus up to $20,000. The Registered Professional Nurse optimizes patient outcomes by delivering compassionate, collaborative, high‑quality care and promotes excellence in nursing practice by providing expert care to patients across all age groups, cultures, psychosocial, spiritual and disability concerns.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing required for Cardiac Rehab;
Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred. - Current Massachusetts State RN license.
- Current BLS certification required.
- ACLS required for Telemetry, ICU, ED, Cardiac Rehab, Endoscopy, LDRP, PACU, Med/Surg.
- NRP required for LDRP.
- PALS required for PACU and ED.
- New Graduate Nurses accepted for some positions.
- Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Good organizational skills and adaptability.
- Command of verbal and written English.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute‑care setting.
- Provide timely, positive responses to the needs of patients, families, co‑workers and physicians.
- Collaborate effectively with patients, families and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized, coordinated and comprehensive care plans.
- Regularly assess and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) to monitor patient status.
- Gather and document patients’ medical history, symptoms and current health status.
- Systematically assess patients for care needs and changes in condition, behavior or response to treatment.
- Administer and accurately record medications (oral, intravenous, etc.) according to provider orders and established protocols.
- Independently administer nursing care, applying simple and complex techniques specific to patient needs.
- Delegate care in accordance with the Massachusetts Nurse Practice Act and Sturdy Health guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including assessments, interventions, responses to treatment and individualized nursing plans of care.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and families, helping them cope with illness and treatment challenges.
- Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment options and strategies for health maintenance and illness prevention.
- Respond to medical emergencies, providing first aid and initiating appropriate interventions.
- Ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
- Utilize and maintain medical equipment (e.g., monitors, IV pumps, ventilators).
- Participate in quality assessment and improvement initiatives and contribute to best‑practice development.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships across all areas of responsibility.
- Demonstrate commitment to customer relations and continuous quality improvement, preventing errors from reaching patients.
- Perform Charge Nurse duties as assigned.
- Remain up‑to‑date on current and emerging nursing practice.
- Ensure all licensure, certifications and competencies remain current.
- Apply a growth mindset and maintain a spirit of inquiry.
- Incorporate and apply research and evidence‑based practice.
- Ensure compliance with research protocols.
- Sound dexterity and visual acuity.
- Mental alertness, stamina to work in a fast‑paced environment or emergencies.
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend and reach without restriction.
- Ability to lift between 25 and 50 pounds using good body mechanics.
- Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift.
- Fine motor skills for administering injections, inserting catheters and operating medical equipment.
- Ability to push heavy equipment, stretchers and wheelchairs.
- Work in conditions involving communicable diseases, body fluids and potentially stressful or noisy environments.
- Meet annual safety training requirements.
Salary Range: $35.88‑$55.56 per hour. The pay range displayed reflects the anticipated range for new hires. Actual compensation will be determined based on work history, experience, skill set and education. This does not include Sturdy Health’s benefits package (healthcare/dental/vision, retirement, etc.) and applies to full‑time employment.
