Job Description
The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports operations at Bio Life Plasma Services by determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable results. The Specialist reports to the Center Manager, receives operational guidance, and works under the oversight of the Center Physician for medical issues. The role follows industry regulations, provides environmental, health and safety (EHS) support, and ensures compliance with SOPs.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Assess and manage donor reactions using SOPs and, when necessary, refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs.
- Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs regarding unacceptable findings or medical or technical issues concerning donor safety and eligibility.
- Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation by occupational health/ER is required; follow EHS guidance.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats in the community.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing education program with state requirements.
- Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA) licensed in the state where duties are assigned.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfilled state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

CompensationU.S. hourly wage range: $38.72 – $53.24. This range is an estimate and may vary based on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. Wages will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives and may participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well‑being benefits. Employees may receive up to 80 hours of sick time per calendar year and up to 120 hours of paid vacation for new hires.
