Position: Staff Data & Information Architect

Job Description Summary

As the Staff Data & Information Architect, you will be responsible for multiple software projects as a project leader or internal consultant. You will work on highly complex software projects that require in-depth domain knowledge or two or more specialized architecture areas.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Support, develop, and own site-level data solutions that enable data‑driven decision‑making across large‑scale manufacturing and supply‑chain operations.
  • Design, build, implement, and maintain data pipelines, models, analytics, and visualizations supporting key performance indicators (KPIs) including Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity (SQDIP).
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all data‑related activities at the site, working closely with business users, operations, engineering, and leadership.
  • Translate business processes and requirements into practical, scalable, and sustainable data solutions.
  • Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries to support analytics, reporting, and operational insights.
  • Develop dashboards and visualizations using tools such as Spotfire to support informed decision‑making.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal oversight, taking ownership of solutions from concept through implementation and ongoing support.
  • Ensure data accuracy, quality, reliability, security, and compliance with organizational policies and standards.
  • Create and maintain documentation for data pipelines, models, dashboards, and processes.
  • Continuously identify and implement improvements to data workflows, analytics processes, and tooling.
  • Participate in data‑domain technical and business discussions relative to future architect direction.
  • Assist in the analysis, design and development of a roadmap, design pattern, and implementation based upon a current vs. future state in a cohesive architecture viewpoint.
  • Support the development data and data delivery platforms that are service‑oriented with reusable components that can be orchestrated together into different methods for different businesses.
  • Research and evaluate emerging data technology, industry and market trends to assist in project development and/or operational support activities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of four years of professional experience, OR an associate’s degree with a minimum of seven years, OR a high school diploma with a minimum of nine years.
  • Minimum three years of professional experience with SQL and data visualization tools such as Spotfire, Power BI and Tableau.
  • Note:

    Military experience is equivalent to professional experience.

Desired Characteristics Technical Expertise
  • Ability to consult customers on alignment of outcomes and desired technical solutions at an enterprise level.
  • Ability to analyze, design, and develop a software solution roadmap and implementation plan based upon a current vs. future state of the business.
  • Working knowledge of configuration choices and related cost implications; experience with complex solution configurations.
  • Knowledgeable of the full range of the solution catalog within a business unit and able to discuss the overall solution at depth.
  • Experience sustaining operational stability through various life‑cycle phases (planning, implementation, steady state, de‑commissioning); ability to provision and budget via capital and operating.
  • Able to lead early‑stage customer interactions; guide customers as they develop confidence and comfort with approaches and integrate with their legacy tech investments.
Business Acumen
  • Adept at navigating the organizational matrix; understanding people’s roles, can foresee obstacles, identify workarounds, leverage resources and rally teammates.
  • Understand how internal and/or external business model works and facilitate active customer engagement.
  • Able to articulate the value of what is most important to the business/customer to achieve outcomes.
