Job Overview
Sales Associate on the Fluid Solutions team will follow a structured training path to become an Outside Sales Representative. The role provides on‑site training, digital onboarding, and experience across construction verticals, equipment rentals, and customer segments.
Responsibilities- Begin training at a local branch, shadowing sales and operational roles to understand the full equipment‑rental lifecycle.
- Participate in a digital onboarding class to sharpen sales techniques and build a support network.
- Execute outbound sales campaigns targeting diverse construction verticals and customer segments.
- Master United Rentals sales tools, including CRM, inventory platforms, customer portal, and mobile applications.
- Lead high‑level sales conversations for price negotiations, multi‑piece requests, government and educational agreements, equipment service contracts, and resale of used equipment.
- Apply proven sales methodologies to deliver solutions and drive revenue growth.
- Engage in local team initiatives: safety huddles, customer appreciation events, yard sales, entertainment outings, charity drives, and internal workshops.
- Track development through achievement levels and real‑time performance metrics.
- Receive daily feedback via corporate and local leadership meetings, coaching sessions, and job‑site ride‑alongs.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in a customer‑facing sales role preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Proficient computer and mobile phone/tablet skills.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Must live within reasonable driving distance of the assigned branch and be able to report on‑site Monday through Friday.
Training lasts 4–6 months in the Sales Development Program (SDP) before promotion to an Outside Sales Representative, depending on market conditions and individual performance.

Base pay range: $32.65 – $48.95 per hour. Total compensation varies by position, education, training, experience, and other factors.
