Position Summary
This position supports a well‑organized and effective learning environment for Pre‑K students, enabling them to benefit from instructional programs and resources. Paraprofessionals are versatile, working in classrooms, offices, and media centers, providing individual or group assistance to meet teachers' needs and ensure each student thrives in early education.
Minimum Requirements- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- At least 21 years of age (Individuals who have a minimum credit hours and hold an Associate Degree or higher teaching credential do not have to meet the minimum 21 years of age requirement)
- Paraprofessional license OR have passed the paraprofessional assessment
- Maintains all licenses and certifications
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint
- Background Clearance

- Administers achievement and diagnostics tests as directed by the teacher (math and reading tests, etc.) to support the instructional process.
- Assists students, individually or in small groups, with lesson assignments and training to reach academic goals and appropriate social skills.
- Implements independent study, enrichment work, remedial work, and daily physical cleanliness (toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, etc.) to reinforce learning concepts.
- Maintains classroom equipment, supplies, and learning aids to ensure availability and safety.
- Monitors students in various settings (classroom, playground, field trips, library, lunchroom, restrooms, bus loading/unloading, etc.) to provide a safe and positive environment.
- Reports observations and incidents to appropriate personnel.
- Responds to emergency situations (injured student, fights, etc.) to resolve immediate safety concerns.
- Supports classroom teachers with tasks such as storytelling, reading, drills, special one‑on‑one work, lunchroom assistance, adaptive P.E. routines, etc.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Job requires 10% sitting, 40% walking, 50% standing. Requires lifting of some items and working under stress in diverse environments.
