Education: Bachelor's Degree (Required); H.S. Diploma or teaching certification and/or advanced degree (Preferred)
Experience: Must have experience as a non‑commissioned officer or officer with a minimum of four years active duty (Required)

Responsible for the development and continuous quality improvement of the Junior Leadership Corps Program by delivering program curriculum, providing necessary training, and organizing extracurricular events.
- Provide classroom instruction.
- Instruct cadets in the Junior Leadership Corps curriculum.
- Instruct cadets in drill training, to officiate colors for community and sporting events, school assemblies and meetings, and as deemed appropriate by the local school administration.
- Accomplish required school tasks and participate in staff meetings, school committees, and student activities.
- Perform duties required of other teachers in the school.
- Achieve the curricular requirements and learning standards of the program of instruction.
- Attain and improve proficiency in drill and Junior Leadership Corps training.
- Improve instruction by continuously staying abreast of new and alternative instructional and motivational techniques.
- Counsel and mentor students on their academic performance as members of the Junior Leadership Corps.
- Recruit and retain new students.
- Assist in the marketing of the Junior Leadership Corps program in the school and community.
- Identify specific prerequisite skills and/or knowledge necessary for students to learn the Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS).
- Plan instruction as needed to promote student mastery of prerequisite skills and knowledge.
- Analyze student work and assessments to determine instructional needs.
- Follow written lesson plans to support instructional objectives of the AKS for all students.
- Plan appropriate assessment of student learning.
- Assess students' learning of the AKS.
- Provide assessments that are appropriate for the learner(s).
- Maintain assessment records for each student.
- Communicate assessment results to students.
- Utilize assessment results to plan for subsequent instruction.
- Provide initial focus for the lesson.
- Communicate specific learning objectives to students.
- Link lesson content to students' prior knowledge, background experience, and/or real‑world application of content.
- Capture student attention through active involvement.
- Evaluate cadets, enter grades, maintain equipment records, and financial records.
- Prepare an annual Master Training Plan and develop a schedule for the year reflecting school activities and JLC objectives and activities when appropriate, including cadets in the planning phase and organize cadets and resources toward the objectives.
