Job Summary

The successful candidate will manage the hematological malignancies registry and coordinate projects aimed at addressing health disparities across Georgia. This role supports cutting‑edge research and improves patient outcomes in hematology and related malignancies.

Responsibilities
  • Registry Management:
    • Collect, enter, and manage patient data related to hematological and other malignancies in the registry database.
    • Perform regular quality‑control checks and audits to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
    • Maintain and update the registry database, preserving data integrity and security.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines, including patient confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • Project Management:
    • Coordinate research studies focused on increasing access to breast and cervical cancer screenings for women in rural Georgia and South Carolina.
    • Assist in developing and implementing research protocols and standard operating procedures, including protocol generation and IRB submission.
    • Monitor project timelines and ensure milestones are achieved according to the study plan.
  • Research Support:
    • Conduct literature reviews to support ongoing research projects and stay up‑to‑date on advancements in hematological malignancies.
    • Assist with data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and research opportunities within the registry.
    • Prepare detailed reports and presentations based on registry data for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and funding applications to support research initiatives.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of researchers, clinicians, and data managers to achieve project goals.
    • Communicate effectively with external partners, including healthcare providers, research institutions, and funding agencies.
    • Provide training and support to new staff and collaborators on registry database usage and related protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

Must possess a master’s degree from an accredited college or university in biology, biostatistics, epidemiology, public health, or a related field, with experience in research, basic science, or clinical laboratory research, especially in clinical research.

OR

Bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum of three years of research and/or clinical experience; prior supervisory experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in clinical research, data management, or registry management, preferably in hematology or oncology.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with a commitment to high‑quality data standards.
  • Specific experience with hematological malignancies or related registries.
  • Human‑subjects training in a clinical research capacity or setting; experience working with patients in a clinical or research environment.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and critical‑thinking skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
Shift / Salary / Benefits
  • Part‑time (0.50 FTE).
  • Shift: Days, Monday – Friday.
  • Pay band: B8.
  • Salary minimum: $21.83 per hour; commensurate with qualifications within the established range.
  • Recruitment period: 9/26/24 – until filled.
  • Benefits (for eligible employees): health, dental, and life insurance; optional retirement plan; accrued vacation, sick leave, and 13 paid holidays. Full‑time employees may be eligible for a Tuition Assistance Program upon completion of 6 months of service.
