Scaffold Builder (Augusta, GA) – Austin Industrial (NUTR)
The Scaffold Builder role gives you the opportunity to work in the construction, assembly, maintenance, and dismantling of tubular scaffolding or other temporary structures. Other duties may be assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determine the type of scaffold needed.
- Inspect job site and all scaffold material for defects and safety hazards.
- Effectively communicate safety hazards and mitigate avoidable hazards prior to construction of scaffolding.
- Transport tubular scaffold or other structural material and erect the scaffold to the required dimensions.
- Hoist scaffolding materials upward to erect temporary structure.
- Properly secure and level locking sections of scaffolding material.
- Secure scaffold to the permanent structure for added stability.
- Adhere to all OSHA, site‑specific, and Austin Industrial requirements for erecting and navigating scaffolding.
- Perform final inspection of completed scaffolding.
- Dismantle scaffolding when instructed.
- Inspect and properly stow scaffolding material after dismantling.
- Work while wearing personal protective equipment such as rain gear, chemical protective clothing, respirators, safety harness, sand‑blast hoods, fire‑resistant coveralls, hard hat, ear plugs, and safety glasses.
- Perform work that requires full range of mobility in upper and lower body, reach overhead, work in various positions, including stooping, standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing stairs, working at heights, and balancing for extended periods.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 2–3 years of experience as a Journeyman Scaffold Builder (required).
- Must pass pre‑employment physical, drug screen and background check (condition of employment).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship.
Work Schedule and
Conditions:
- Full‑time; 4 days on, 10 days off.
- No per diem and no relocation funding.
