What You Will Do

Under close supervision, this position performs routine quantitative and qualitative observations, inspections, and sampling of air, soil, water, recyclable materials, and solid and hazardous waste at the assigned site. The role supports environmental compliance activities and may also assist with asset recycling and disposition in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.

  • Conduct environmental sampling and monitoring activities to assess site conditions and ensure compliance with environmental and other regulatory requirements; take appropriate actions to maintain compliance.
  • Monitor solid waste areas, including drums, hazardous material collection points, and reclamation sites, to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and site standards.
  • Install, set up, and operate environmental monitoring instruments and equipment.
  • Coordinate the timely recycling and disposition of materials and company assets in compliance with legal, regulatory, and company requirements.
  • Track, document, and report recycling and asset disposition activities as directed.
  • Operate and monitor basic electronic equipment and perform simple preventive maintenance as required.
  • Maintain current knowledge of site environmental policies, procedures, and requirements.
  • Assist with or provide training on environmental topics and compliance requirements, as needed.
  • Participate in routine audits and inspections of operational areas to verify compliance with site environmental policies, procedures, and the Environmental Management System (EMS).
  • Perform other duties as required.
What You Bring To Freeport
  • Two (2) years of experience in environmental monitoring, sampling, reporting or asset management and disposal as an Environmental Technician or closely related role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED
What We Offer You

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $24.50 - $33.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
