  • Salary placement schedule:
    Up to 20 years of experience, including out-of-state and private schools, are granted. Any raises are factored into placement salary after year

  • 14 sick days, three personal days
  • Children can attend Maroa-Forsyth Schools even if living outside of the district as a full-time employee
Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials, facilitating active learning.
  • Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and tests in accordance with established procedures.
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment. Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with the school's rules and disciplinary systems. Provide appropriate feedback on work.
  • Encourage and monitor individual students' progress, and use this information to adjust teaching strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
  • Update all necessary records accurately and ultimately as required by laws, district policies, and school regulations.
  • Prepare required reports on students and activities.
  • Participate in department, school, district and parent meetings.
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and needs.
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
  • Prepare the classroom for class activities.
  • Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
  • Observe and evaluate students' performance and development.
  • Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments.
  • Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
  • Encourage parent and community involvement, obtain parental information when requested, promptly return phone calls, and answer emails.
  • Participate in appropriate professional activities.
  • Actively participate in IEP and 504 meetings as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with an endorsement for 3rd grade.
