Water Treatment Chemical Service Technician – Chicago, Illinois
Water Treatment Chemical Service Technician responsible for sales support and maintenance of the existing customer base in the Greater Chicago area. The role includes performing water treatment tests at existing customers, helping sell proprietary products and providing technical support.
Responsibilities- Solve customers' water problems.
- Treat industrial boilers and cooling towers to keep them energy efficient and environmentally friendly.
- Perform detailed water testing & analyses at industrial sites such as food processing plants, hospitals, manufacturing plants, commercial buildings, and data centers.
- Help sell Garratt-Callahan's proprietary chemical blends, equipment, and monitoring technology.
- Passivation of stainless steel in industrial water treatment systems.
- Help sell corrosion & scale inhibitors, coagulants, flocculants, biocides, bio-augmentation, feed & monitoring equipment, water management plans, reverse osmosis products.
- Help sell Water Safety Programs.
- Keep existing customers happy.
- Help bring on new industrial customers.
You must have a 4‑year science degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Mechanical Engineering, Paper Science, or Water Resources. One‑year technical sales experience or internship related to water treatment chemicals is preferred; outside industrial sales experience is a plus. Must live in the greater Chicago area and be familiar with the industrial marketplace of Illinois. Garratt-Callahan does not sponsor work visas.
