Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and supporting the safe operation of manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This role supports production by ensuring equipment reliability, workplace safety, and compliance with regulatory and preventive maintenance requirements. The position involves hands‑on mechanical work, inspections, coordination with outside contractors, and oversight of building and life‑safety systems.

Key Responsibilities Equipment & Facility Maintenance
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment, including CNC machines, overhead cranes, forklifts, and related production equipment.
  • Maintain building systems such as doors, ladders, lighting, floors, and general facility infrastructure.
  • Diagnose mechanical and basic electrical issues and perform repairs in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure proper use, inspection, and maintenance of ladders, lifting devices, and material‑handling equipment.
Safety & Compliance
  • Conduct regular fire alarm inspections and coordinate required testing and repairs.
  • Perform or coordinate sprinkler system inspections in accordance with local codes and regulations.
  • Support workplace safety initiatives and ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate inspection, maintenance, and compliance records.
  • Obtain quotes for building and facility maintenance projects.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and oversee outside contractors performing maintenance, repairs, or inspections.
  • Ensure contractor work meets safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
  • Act as a point of contact between the facility and external service providers.
General Duties
  • Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and inspection documentation.
  • Assist with facility improvement projects as needed.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and emergency situations as required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to maintenance efficiency and safety.
Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certifications preferred.
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
  • Experience working with CNC equipment, overhead cranes, forklifts, and industrial tools.
  • Familiarity with fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, and safety inspections.
  • Ability to read manuals, schematics, and maintenance documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and contractors.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform hands‑on mechanical work for extended periods.
  • Manufacturing and industrial facility environment.
  • Exposure to machinery, noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.

This position is covered under the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement. Wages, benefits, hours of work, overtime, and other terms and conditions of employment are governed by the CBA.
