Job Summary

This position will be responsible for the completeness and accuracy of all shipping documents. Ensure that products that are ready for shipment are shipped immediately to assure a maximum OTIF.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble stock shipping packets, including printing shipping labels, manufacturing labels, address labels, special customer labels, bills of lading, safety data sheets, and technical data sheets.
  • Match certificates of analysis with correct orders.
  • Communicate to the shipping manager any issues that would prevent an order from shipping as scheduled.
  • Assemble shipping packets for bins and drums.
  • Arrange carrier pick‑ups and/or notify customer or customer service for customer pick‑ups.
  • Maintain a log of carriers called for communication and historical purposes.
  • Ship products early when possible based on customer requested date.
  • Monitor all export orders to ensure the container has been ordered, all shipping documentation has been completed, pictures of freight and container have been taken, seal number assigned to each load, freight company has been called when the container is completed, and has set up a time to pick up the loaded container.
  • Follow up daily on any loaded containers not picked up as scheduled; call the freight company and notify customer service and the supervisor of any delays.
  • Call carriers for all orders that are marked as customer pick‑ups to insure timely pickup.
  • Monitor total orders shipped to an assigned region and verify with the current freight company the number of trucks needed.
  • Monitor daily shipments to ensure that Quaker Houghton is achieving OTIF goals.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience (entry level).
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly in chemical manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of JDE a plus.
