We are seeking a Senior Electrical Designer to join our Light Commercial market sector. This role serves as both a technical design leader and a key contributor to EEA's Graduate Training Program (Bootcamp). Responsibilities are split between supporting electrical design projects and developing entry-level engineers through structured training, mentorship, and hands-on project experience.

The ideal candidate is passionate about both design excellence and talent development, helping engineers build the technical knowledge, practical skills, and confidence needed to succeed in consulting engineering. This role is located in Austin, Texas and offers a flexible hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities Bootcamp Training & Mentorship Support the planning, development, and delivery of EEA's Graduate Training Program (Bootcamp) for entry-level engineers

Provide classroom-style instruction and hands-on training related to electrical systems, design fundamentals, drafting standards, and industry best practices

Review design work completed by entry-level engineers and provide timely coaching and constructive feedback

Monitor participant progress and identify opportunities for additional development and support

Promote a collaborative learning environment that encourages professional growth, accountability, and continuous improvement

Coordinate with engineering and design staff to ensure Bootcamp participants receive meaningful project exposure and learning opportunities

Assist in continuously improving Bootcamp curriculum, training processes, and program effectiveness

Electrical Design Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to create detailed drawings, layouts, and schematics for electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security, and low-voltage systems

Assist engineers in developing electrical system designs by creating and revising drawings, models, schedules, and specifications

Prepare comprehensive documentation to support the design, construction, and commissioning of electrical systems

Serve as a senior-level resource for electrical design, Revit, and BIM coordination, including the development and maintenance of standards, templates, families, and workflows

Manage electrical modeling and BIM coordination on multi-discipline projects while providing technical guidance to project teams

Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations throughout the design process

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and project managers to support integrated design solutions and successful project delivery

Required Qualifications 7+ years of experience designing low-voltage systems in the MEP consulting field, preferably on light commercial or retail projects

Demonstrated expertise in utilizing AutoCAD and Revit with a track record of producing high-quality electrical drawings and models

Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, and develop early-career engineers and designers

Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, practices, and standards, including but not limited to NEC, NFPA, IESNA, IECC, and IEEE regulations

Adept at to working effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced consulting environment, balancing multiple projects, deadlines, and responsibilities

Proven ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and other regulatory authorities…
