Amazon’s Worldwide Grocery Stores (WWGS) is seeking a motivated Demand Planner to join our fast‑paced demand planning team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, moves quickly, and is eager to learn and grow with our business.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts for Amazon product categories.
- Analyze sales trends, seasonality, and promotional impacts to optimize inventory levels.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including supply chain, operations, and merchandising.
- Monitor forecast accuracy and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support new product launches with data‑driven forecasting.
- Identify and communicate supply‑demand imbalances proactively.
- Create reports and dashboards to track key performance metrics.
- Participate in weekly and monthly business reviews.
- Demonstrate ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Exhibit strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of supply‑chain, forecasting, manufacturing, sourcing/procurement, or vendor management experience.
- Knowledge of writing and optimizing SQL queries in a business environment with large‑scale, complex datasets.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, macros, index/match, VLOOKUP, VBA, data links, etc.).
- Experience providing and effectively communicating strategic and tactical recommendations based on data.
- Knowledge of methods for statistical inference (e.g., regression, experimental design, significance testing).
- Experience with one or more analytics visualization tools (Excel, Tableau, Quick Sight, Micro Strategy, Power
BI). - Experience with purchasing or inventory management in e‑commerce or retail.
- 3+ years of demand planning and forecasting experience.
- Experience with in e‑commerce or Retail fields.
- Experience utilizing AI to improve Demand planning and forecasting models.
Base salary range: 53,700 – 94,000 USD annually (Chicago), 53,700 – 94,000 USD annually (Austin), 80,200 – 94,000 USD annually (Seattle). The package includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Compensation also includes health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance), supplemental life plans, employee assistance program (EAP), mental health support, medical advice line, flexible spending accounts, adoption and surrogacy reimbursement coverage, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
