At Cesium Astro we develop and pioneer out‑of‑the‑box communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. We are looking to add a dedicated and talented Quality Control Inspector to our 2nd shift team. The role involves performing inspections on electronic assemblies and finished high‑reliability products in compliance with the Cesium Astro Quality Management System, international standards, and regulatory requirements.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Execute quality control processes per purchased product, manufacturing operations, and customer quality requirements.
- Inspect parts, assemblies, and finished products using necessary tools and equipment in accordance with approved procedures, specifications, and drawings.
- Perform measurements using calipers, height gauges, thread gauges, and CMM/VMM.
- Document inspection activities using electronic systems, written logs, and labels.
- Assist in the development, maintenance, and improvement of inspection methods, inspection plans, and internal quality procedures.
- Assist with resolution of internal/external nonconformance using root cause, corrective action, and 8D methodologies.
- Assist with data analysis and department metrics reporting as required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Help resolve audit findings, observations, and recommendations.
- Control and disposition of non‑conforming material (MRB).
- Drive scheduling of day‑to‑day processes; ensure timely and accurate turnaround.
- Perform other QC duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in a technical field preferred; high‑school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2–4 years of relevant work experience or training, preferably in a regulated environment such as automotive, aerospace, or medical device.
- Experience with AS9100 or ISO
9001 Quality Management Systems. - Experience with microscopic visual inspection.
- Experience with ERP and PLM software systems.
- Proficient in reading engineering documents, CAD drawings, and detailed work instructions.
- Strong digital, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others in a positive and collaborative manner.
- Experience in the aerospace or electronics industry.
- Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
- J-STD-001, IPC‑A‑610, and/or IPC/WHA‑A‑620 certification.
