Overview Of The Specialist, Quality Assurance And Engineering

We're seeking a Specialist Quality Engineer to join one of our Scrum teams and help shape how quality and automation scale across customers facing financial platforms. This role goes beyond test execution, you'll influence test strategy, automation standards, and quality gates, while owning the end-to-end quality of your team's deliverables. You'll partner closely with developers, product owners, and fellow QEs to ensure our solutions are reliable, maintainable, and ready to scale.

Reporting to the Manager, Technology Development, you will be embedded within the Maxit product team, responsible for ensuring the quality, accuracy, and reliability of Tax reporting web applications and services. This role focuses on validating data‑intensive, API‑driven, and batch‑oriented financial systems ensuring correctness across UI, backend services, and orchestration layers. As part of our global Quality Engineering organization, you'll help expand and stabilize our automated testing capabilities while working in a hybrid model alongside teams based in Bangalore, India.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Specialist, Quality Assurance and Engineering:

Quality & Test Strategy

Own the overall quality of your team's deliverables across functional, integration, and regression testing
Review product requirements and designeffective test plans, scenarios, and test caseswith clear traceability
Perform end‑to‑end testing ofTax reporting.
Apply risk-based thinking to prioritize high value test coverage and release confidence

Automation & Execution

Design and build automated tests forUI and/or API layerswith an automation first mindset.
Maintain reliable, maintainable, and scalable automation suites with strong regression value.
Execute and support testing activities includingfunctional, integration, regression, and UAT support.

Continuous Improvement

Manage defect reporting and proactivelyidentifysystemic quality risks.
Troubleshoot failures end-to-end across automation code, environments, test data, and application defects.
Mentorpeers and contribute to evolving automation practices and standards.
Passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimentingwithand learning new technologies, andparticipatingin technology communities.

Skills and

Experience of the Specialist, Quality Assurance and Engineering:

6+of experience testing complex web-based applications.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field
Strong understanding of testing methodologies including functional, regression, negative, integration, and system testing.
Strong programming experience inat least one modern languageused for test automation (e.g.,C#, Java,orTypeScript).
Experience building and maintaining

UI automationusing modern frameworks (e.g., Selenium or Playwright).
Experience testing

APIsusing industry standard tools (e.g., Postman,Ready

API, or Rest API)
Experience using

BDDstyle frameworks(e.g., Cucumber).
Perform batch‑to‑batch and batch‑to‑UI/API reconciliation.
Familiarity with Bash/Shell scripts.
Perform integration testing involving

IBM MQ / messaging queueswhere applicable
Perform extensive

Oracle DB validation using SQL scripting.
Solid fundamentals indebugging, triage, and root cause analysis, including pipeline failures
Experience integrating automated tests into

CI/CD pipelines(Git Lab, Jenkins, or similar)
Strong collaboration and communication skills within Agile/Scrum environments

Nice to Have

Software testing certification.
Experience across multiple automation stacks or languages.

Experience with batch‑driven financial systems.
Exposure to AIassistedtesting or automation acceleration (e.g., improving test design, maintenance, or failure triage using AI)
Understanding of brokerage or wealth‑management back‑office workflows like Cost Basis Reporting (C ) or tax reporting.
