Overview
Provide flexible, person‑centered support across multiple group‑living locations in Barrie at Empower Simcoe. Flex Support Worker will fill vacant shifts, respond to immediate staffing needs, and be prepared for redeployment where necessary.
Responsibilities
Support individuals with intellectual disabilities in all aspects of daily living within group homes.
Provide personal care, household duties, meal preparation, finances, and support attendance at appointments and community activities.
Redeploy to different locations based on agency priorities and emergent needs and transition seamlessly between work sites and support levels.
Minimum Qualifications
Developmental Service Worker diploma or an acceptable equivalent diploma/degree as determined by the employer.
Previous recent work experience in a community residential or social services setting providing support to people with disabilities is preferred.
Candidates with a completed degree or diploma from an accredited college or university in an unrelated field must have ≥2 years full‑time work experience directly supporting people.
Ability to work weekends and holidays.
Ability to attend team meetings and training as required.
Valid class "G" driver’s license with reliable transportation.
Compensation Package
Hours of work include days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays, as required; 12‑hour shifts totaling 72 hours biweekly.
Minimum starting rate of pay $26.48 per hour.
11 paid statutory holidays.
