Simcoe County Child and Youth Support Worker

Location: Midhurst

Contribute to student well-being as a Child and Youth Support Worker with the Simcoe County District School Board. This temporary, full-time role focuses on developing effective mental health strategies for students.

In this itinerant position, you'll offer support across multiple schools, including Angus Morrison and Pine River. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will promote mental health literacy, facilitate social-emotional learning, and provide important resources to families. Your responsibility will include enhancing school climate through various preventative initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver effective mental health programs to students

• Engage in classroom mental health education

• Support families with mental health resources

• Lead activities to raise mental health awareness

• Collaborate on bullying and wellness initiatives

Requirements:

• 3-year diploma in Child and Youth services or equivalent

• Familiarity with social-emotional development strategies

• Preferred experience in school settings

• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license

• Strong organizational and communication skills
