Job Description

Summary: Responsible for all assembly/welding operations. Supervises all personnel within these departments, instills the culture of visual material flow and standard work, and maintains required safety stock buffers to ensure 100% on‑time delivery.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Direct all work in assigned departments in accordance with specifications established by the engineering division.
  • Utilize the machines, materials, services, reports and recommendations provided by various staff functions to control detailed operations and overall performance. Examples: using production schedules and daily status reports furnished by Production Control to control production and prevent delinquencies.
  • Approve and apply manufacturing engineering standards promptly, report any method changes to the Manufacturing Engineering function.
  • Use variance reports from Data Processing as a guide to take corrective action and keep costs within budget.
  • Overcome obstacles such as material shortages or equipment breakdowns and take appropriate action, enlisting the aid of Tooling, Engineering, Production Control, Manufacturing Engineering and other departments when necessary.
  • Train and assist workers in maintaining product quality, keeping scrap low, sustaining high productivity without compromising quality, ensuring smooth workflow, controlling costs, working safely and maintaining clean housekeeping throughout the department.
  • Carry out special projects arising from employee suggestions or proposals by the Manufacturing Engineering manager.
  • Consult with Human Resources regarding workplace grievances.
  • Assume full responsibility for the quality of parts leaving the department and for the accuracy of all production counts.
  • Maintain records as prescribed by supervisory and other functions and keep the superintendent informed verbally, providing reports upon special request.
  • Provide supervisory direction to all assigned personnel, select personnel, prepare performance reviews, administer discipline, and make recommendations regarding compensation, promotion, demotion and termination.
  • Conduct regular department inspections to ensure cleanliness and safety; arrange for proper maintenance, operation and orderliness of machinery, equipment, facilities and material in process.
  • Perform personnel functions such as recommending selection, hiring, status changes or termination of hourly employees, observing qualifications for selection as foreman.
  • Follow all Senior policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED. A Bachelor’s degree is highly desirable.
  • 5–7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; aerospace manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience managing 25+ employees.
  • Experience in a high‑volume manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Experience managing and transforming culture within large assembly operations.
  • Career progression with increasingly responsible roles within production operations.
  • Lean / Continuous Improvement training.
  • Orientation toward metrics in business analysis.
Annual Target Salary

$85,000.00

Monday – Friday, 1st Shift.
