Security Officer at the Basildon Tractor Plant.

Reporting to:
Security Supervisor

Hours:

Shift pattern including days, nights, and weekends (average 42 hours per week)

Pay Rate: £13.17 per hour (paid hourly via clocking system)

• Deliver a comprehensive security service, ensuring the safety of the site, personnel, and visitors.
• Conduct regular patrols, monitor systems, and respond promptly to incidents, including fire and emergency situations.
• Control access to the site, issue passes, and greet visitors professionally at gatehouse or reception areas.
• Monitor CCTV systems and respond in line with site procedures.
• Respond to fire incidents and participate in confined space rescue situations, as trained.
• Support administrative tasks such as rota preparation, conference room bookings, and general operational support.
• Answer the switchboard and direct calls appropriately.

• Valid Front Line SIA licence and a full UK driving licence.
• Willingness and ability to undertake training in fire safety and confined space rescue.
• Ability to follow procedures, including risk assessments and method statements.
• Strong commitment to health and safety at all times.
• Good communication skills and comfort working independently and as part of a team.
• Capacity for physical activity, including walking, bending, and lifting where necessary.

• Flexible and adaptable in approach to work and duties.
• Strong awareness of safety and security procedures.
• Reliable, professional, and responsive to incidents and management requests.
• Proactive in identifying and reporting security or health and safety concerns.
• Team player contributing positively to the wider facilities operation.
