Job Title:
Facilitator, ARD (Part‑Time)
Basic Function & Responsibility: Implement, facilitate, and supervise the special education ARD/IEP process. Collaborate with other professionals and parents in the ARD process. Work cooperatively with instructional personnel to develop the most appropriate programs for students with disabilities according to the federal requirements of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.
Qualifications- Education/Certification: Master’s degree preferred from an accredited college or university;
Valid Texas teacher certificate with Special Education Certification or related certification. - Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of ARD procedures, special education curriculum, state assessment, graduation requirements, and legal requirements of IDEA and Texas Education Code.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Conflict management and student‑centered focus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Google applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Experience: Three (3) years of special education teaching or diagnostic evaluation experience.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following characteristic duties and responsibilities:
- Identify and schedule ARD meetings (Annual Reviews, Initials, Graduation, Transfer, etc.) in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines.
- Monitor initial referral timelines and conduct initial ARD committee meetings within required timelines set forth by Texas Education Code.
- Investigate and interpret records and coordinate with parents and staff for timely ARD meetings and notifications.
- Collaborate with campus administrators, assessment staff, interpreters, related service providers, and agencies to ensure ARD agenda coverage and to build consensus among committee members.
- Maintain compliance with Initial, Annual, Graduation, and Permanent Placement ARD due dates; ensure all required information is submitted into the electronic IEP system.
- Document ARD committee decisions and generate meeting deliberations within the electronic IEP system.
- Provide professional development and training for staff regarding IEP services, documentation, and ARD procedures.
- Maintain readiness to respond to requests and collaborate with transportation and testing services for accurate student support.
