Site Fitter​/Welder​/Mechanical Engineer

Position: Site Fitter / Welder / Mechanical Engineer
Major Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Site Fitter / Welder / Mechanical Engineer for our prestigious client based in Batley, West Yorkshire.

Due to continued growth, our client is looking to strengthen their engineering team with the addition of a skilled and motivated individual to support ongoing site installations, repairs, refurbishments, and maintenance projects across various recycling facilities along the M62 corridor.

This is a hands-on role involving site-based welding, fabrication, and mechanical engineering work, primarily focused on machinery and industrial equipment used within recycling centres.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out MIG welding and fabrication work on-site
Install, repair, and refurbish industrial machinery and components
Repair and patch pipework where required
Fabricate chutes and structural components
Complete hard-faced welding work on rotating equipment
Assist with the construction and installation of barriers
Travel to various customer sites across the M62 corridor using company vehicles
Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health & safety procedures
Work collaboratively as part of the engineering and site installation team Requirements:

Previous experience within a similar Site Fitter, Welder, or Mechanical Engineering role
Strong MIG welding and fabrication skills
Mechanical engineering qualifications are essential
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Strong awareness and commitment to health & safety standards
Full clean UK driving licence essential
Candidates must be over 25 years old due to company vehicle insurance requirements

Working Hours

Monday to Friday
Start time approximately 7:00am
Finish times may vary depending on site location and workload
Some additional site work and overtime may be required
