Sales Representative – Distributor
Location:
Minneapolis, MN (surrounding areas). In this role you will partner with our contract hardware distribution channel, selling a full range of door opening solutions to healthcare, school, university, military, and commercial building settings.
- Develop and maintain relationships throughout the distributor’s organization.
- Actively solicit, follow‑up, and negotiate all quote opportunities.
- Manage distributor buying programs and promote distributor promotions and programs to secure discretionary sales revenue.
- Ensure distributors quote ASSA ABLOY specifications and provide necessary product/solution training sessions.
- Coordinate resolution of product and field service issues.
- Manage brand shelf space at distributor accounts.
- Conduct regularly scheduled distributor business reviews.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for selling door opening solutions.
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and known for strong follow‑up habits.
- Strong communicator, active listener, and skilled negotiator.
- Self‑motivated and able to work independently while valuing teamwork.
- Ability to read, understand specifications/facility standards, and possess industry‑related technical and sales aptitude.
- Multi‑tasker capable of managing time and projects proficiently.
College/University degree preferred (e.g., architectural design, engineering, construction science/management) or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 2–3 years of industry‑related experience in the distribution channel of the door & hardware industry with multi‑line sales expertise.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, CRM usage for sales and activity reporting, and working knowledge of industry‑related software is a plus.
Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary range: $85K – $115K. Benefits include bonus, 401(k) plan, education assistance, company car, and a comprehensive benefits package. Compensation can be adjusted based on location, experience, and performance.
