Position Summary
The Configuration Management Support position is responsible for supporting configuration management processes related to product design changes and overall system integrity. This role ensures accurate configuration identification and control by reviewing design release documentation for completeness, accuracy, and proper authorization. The position works closely with engineering, program management, quality, and customer stakeholders to ensure compliance with contractual and organizational requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Support configuration and change management by routing problem reports, reviewing change requests, and preparing documentation.
- Control, identify, record, and report IT components, versions, constituent components, states, and relationships.
- Assist in maintaining environments for supporting the system software lifecycle across the full Dev Sec Ops process.
- Handle all hardware and software artifacts that are part of the system, including source code, IaC, CaC, software executables, and commercial and open‑source product software.
- Review and release configuration items, including documents and drawings.
- Verify conformance to specifications, drawings, interface control documents, as defined with the program’s configuration management.
- Utilize configuration‑management tools to store, track, and manage configuration items.
- Support engineering review boards and configuration control boards.
- Document and implement hardware and software configuration‑management processes and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and applicable government standards, including correct markings, security labels, and distribution statements.
- May support configuration management and release of contract deliveries to the customer.
- High school diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated configuration‑management experience supporting or managing complex, multidisciplinary programs.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Experience supporting configuration‑management processes in enterprise IT environments.
- Experience with software development and integration, particularly in a DoD environment.
- Experience with software testing tools, processes, and procedures.
- Active DoD SECRET clearance.
- Strong working knowledge of SharePoint or other document‑management and collaboration tools.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and Dev Sec Ops practices; experience supporting complex defense contracts, specifically with the Air Force.
- Experience using or supporting source‑control systems (e.g., Git‑based platforms) and artifact repositories.
- Experience maintaining configuration baselines and supporting change‑control boards.
- Experience integrating configuration‑management into Dev Sec Ops .
- Experience supporting configuration audits and traceability requirements.
- Experience with configuration‑management tools and SDLC processes.
